Eh. G&W can be an effective AA person if you're willing to abuse his key attack and be called a cheapskate for it. But really, it's Ness's PK Fire and bat moves that rock.

I prefer Ness, Pikachu, Pichu, Marth/Roy to an extent...
I could never get the hang of the heavier characters, the girls, or Mr. G&W.

I never take the time to try ness out and when I do I can never do PK thunder (His up+B)under pressur.

I alsways enjoy letting Bowser kick my butt when I play with Ness, only to trick him and make him restore all of my health with the PSI Magnet move. I then proced to kick Bowser's tail.

Depnding on the situation. If you can't get mack up with the Spin Attack, then the Hookshot does come in hand. But if you're too close to the wall, it won't work. It's a tricky thing to do.
Young Link and Samus can use the same move, too.
