Yes, you need the music box in you inventory, and final island is NOT mewtwo's freind area: cryptic cave is.
Mew is size 1, and can be found on floor 36-98 of buried relic.
final island is its friend area, and the music is creepy.... but cool.
also, mew has atleast a 50% recruit rate???
