The Shidting caes have a new type of Pokémon in it every time you use the Myster Event thing with a friend, and on Island 8- you can get Oh-Ho and Lugia. On Island 9 (Island of Rebirth), you'll find Deoxys. Although, you'll only get to those islands via Nintendo special event.
Oh, and if you don't use Mystery Event, you'll only find wild Zubat in the shifting cave- nothing more. Not even an item.

8 and 9 Islands are obtained through special events only. You can't get them anymore.

I wouldn't say- I obtained my Eon Ticket via a Nintendo Power, and since they had that Mew event last month, I'm pretty sure that they'll pop up with a ticket for those places at a Toys R Us one of these days.

Islands 8 and 9 only have Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Deoxys on them if memory serves. Out of those three, only Lugia really interests me.
I'm still working on a NickWak. I want to see if it still works like it did in the G/S/C saga.

You might be able to download them somewhere, but probably not. Firered/Leafgreen isn't the big Pokémon thing anymore.

 my sister's husband erased my firered game data and I was about the battle the elite four... and he's only to cerulean(my absolute FAVE colour) city.... and he doesn't have any Pokémon I like... **** HIM! (note: I added stars.) NOW I CANT GET TO THE ISLANDS!!!!!!! |

I also know how that feels. Whenever I loan a game to a friend and they swear to not mess with any of my save files, it always has his games saved over my files.
After multiple kicks in the groin, he doesn't do that any more. (insert smug face here)
