Maybe, recently, you may not have seen me on RTC too often lately. I don't post as much as I once used to, along with some other things. Well, I'm not really so much in a big speech mood right now, but let me tell you what has been on my mind lately.

I have honestly been thinking about closing down RTC.

No, this is not like when DT said CC was gonna shut down, where it was a prop to get members active again. I seriously am considering this and almost every single day that passes makes me consider this all the more.

RTC is getting very inactive. I don't feel like my staff are helping me out with this despite my near-constant attempts to raise their enthusiasm for the site and encourage more posting and for them to do their jobs as staff. Yet, they have not really shown too much promise in this. I can't even really try to get new staff because, as harsh as this may sound, a lot of you are not cut out well enough to be staff, I'm sorry. It would more than likely cause me more problems then what I already have.

Sometime soon, at an unspecified date, I may simply close down RTC. When I do, everybody will be demoted from the staff and nobody will be allowed to log in. RTC is simply becoming more of a chore for me and I am not enjoying it. I tried posting a lot of topics before, but those really got nowhere. I instead got topic-killing members that made the goofy topic I tried discussing too damn depressing to reply to. And with no staff to really lend a hand or even carry on the torch, RTC may be shut down.

However, keep this in mind. It will more than likely not be permanent. It will be more like a temporary break for me and everybody else. When I feel like I can get the site up and running again, I will. I'll be trying to study up more on codes as well, so that way when RTC returns, you may notice a whole lot of different things. Maybe the skins will be redone, new codes, and so on.

But for now, I am getting tired of RTC. Nobody to help me out either, and I simply need a break from it. If you do wanna see me on a forum, head over to Chao Club. I picked up my old staff spot over there because it is more active and interesting than what is going on over here.

Lastly, if you don't want me to close RTC down, staff do what I expectof you and enforce rules and post, and members go on and post and discuss a lot of things to pick up activity. If things do end up picking up enough, I might reconsider. If things still seem the same in my viewpoint, then don't be surprised when I do throw up a blank skin and it says you cannot log in to the forum.

I've been here since March of 2007, and has been active since but you never suggested anything like this before. Really, I have no life. Thats why I come here so much.

I can sympathize why you'd want to take a break, but still, I'd have nothing better to do than loiter around here. While I'll admit things have been a bit--slow, and nobody's been organizing much lately, I'd still like to see this place alive. I mean, we have 800 members, sure most of them don't post, but I still think we should keep this place alive.

Cody, first of all, there's many boards that barely get a post of a day, if that. We may not get as many as other forums, but I've yet to see a day where there's not at least a few posts.

Second of all, shutting it down? What, are you paying for it or something? I could understand that, but if you really feel the need to shut down RTC when people still come here to talk, then I really don't understand that.

In all seriousness, Cody, you're never going to find a place where everyone is "perfect" in that sense.

If you're shutting down the damn site, what's the point of demoting everyone? Trying to make them feel bad?

Nobody says you have to constantly be droning over the site, or it's activity. It's the internet, it's a huge place, and there's many other socializing websites out there. Not to mention, this board covers a very small majority of the population that uses the internet compared to other things.

If you feel like shutting down a free board because you believe the activity is going down, when there are still various people who log in, check out topics, and some of them post, then go right ahead.

No, guys, stop trying to argue. He's right. But, RS, if you're considering shutting it down... You could probably add every single power possible to the co-admin rank and let me take over the site while you take a break. I mean, the members that still bother to come here don't want the site down.

No, I said most of the other staff are not around to help. We get some activity, but not enough activity. When there is not enough activity, there are not as many things to do. How often did I find myself trying to hound the staff to do something? I'll tell you; often. Does it work? Barely. And with activity dwindeling more and more, we get less than 100 posts a day. For the ammount of people we even have active on the site, that is still really, really bad.

Dante, I don't know why you're arguing this either. I did tell you before I had this in mind... but did you not think I was serious? And what would you more rather have me do; just go off and close RTC down to everyone one day without any warning or explanation of what I had in mind or even give them a chance to change my mind otherwise? And when I say "demote everyone", it is not to make everyone feel bad, so stop putting words in my mouth. When I next re-open RTC, I'll be starting again from scratch. If you want a staff spot again, then just earn it over again; not that hard to do.

I was never putting words in your mouth, it was a speculation.

Need a break? Take one. But I really don't see the reason to shut down the site, at ALL. Nobody is telling you to do anything.

I was never convinced that you were "serious", really. But that doesn't change the fact that the reason you are thinking about shutting down the site, in my opinion, is stupid. It's not like leaving the INTERNET for a while will cause the world to explode.

Also, I still see no reason to shut down the site. If you want to get a fresh new start, then leave and let us run it while you take a break. Once you get back, you can demote all the staff and start over.

Just don't shut down the site. There's no reason. We might lose the few members we manage to keep active.

Wow, it seems like everything is falling apart nowadays. The place I am staff with is starting to get the same problem. The staff, often absent, the leader tired and unenthusiastic about the site. The members, less dedicated and quality of threads are slipping. While, a lot of members would miss this site, it really is, in all honesty. Up to the owner fully whether the board should stay or go.

Where I stand though, I think that the position of owner should be transferred if temporarily to someone else who wants to try to pick up the site. Try something new, give a refreshment, etc. A staff chosen leader, to prevent a popularity contest. I have no idea what "staff quality" is, and most of the members probably don't either. Tis' will be a sad day though if RTC shall close.

If I could simply take a break from the site, I would, but there is just one problem I probably said several times already...

The staff aren't doing their jobs.

Even if Bulby is here, that is only just one person. Everybody else on the staff, from Trainee up, aren't doing anything. No promising members to make replacement staff. Without any staff doing their jobs, and yes; this including posting, the site will go into more desolation than what we already have now.

The staff have been leaving and I am getting sick of the reasons for it. "Life happens", I heard a million times. But when I said "just atleast try to make a few posts a day", what do I get? Lemmie see... last few posts go ranging way into last month? An entire month's worth of posts is roughly 10? That does not sound like a staff is being active on a site if you ask me. And I take my "break" with almost no staff to attend to it, nothing good will happen.

Wanna atleast keep the site open while I'm gone? Do your jobs. If not, then stop bitching to me about it because you trying to make me feel worthless is not going to change my mind into making the forum more active and productive again. You need to prove to me now that you are able to handle the site in may time away because right now, I don't think the staff are involved enough to do much of anything. Bulby cannot run the site on his own.

okay i'll just hack this place when you decide to say yes so then it won't sound that bad when this does shut down oh and most of the staff is like over 9000 12 year olds and i noticed this place has mostly immature people so of course i'd unserstand why it would shut down

The staff consists of about 6-7 people or so, you know that, right?
