I have a computer that runs sexier then i thought possible, for the most part. I have a small framerate problem with minecraft, which is made more noticable with fraps. So, I'm getting a new graphcs card. I have settled on the ATI Radeon 5770, but that's where the problem comes in. I'm a software-savvy nerd, not a hardware kinda guy. I have no idea if it's compatible with my computer, an HPE 400-F. I currently have an ATI Radeon 5450, so I thnk they are compatible. If not, please tell me, I want to buy the card by the end of this weekend. Also, keep in mind I have a budget of $150 (100 preferably, I want some money for Counter Strike and the Orange Box.) If anyone can make a reccomendation for a better card for the price, please do so.

I know its after the weekend, and I'm a bit tired, so sorry if this doesn't make any sense, haha. Anyway, it looks like the 5450 came WITH the computer, am I rite? I dunno if it will work, the biggest question is, did you buy the computer in its stock configuration? I'm looking at THIS, to be precise. According to ATI's System Requirements page, your power supply needs to be at least 450 Watt, where the stock config only comes with a 300 Watt, so you would need to upgrade that first. At that, I don't see much on ATI's website about how much Video Memory it provides. The 5450, according to HP, has 512 MB built in for dedicated (For those that don't know, in a nutshell: most video cards have dedicated RAM, this prevents it from having to use the computer's resources as much, and thus allows the computer to run faster, even with graphics intensive stuff.) It looks like the 5770 is mostly available with 1 GB dedicated RAM, double what you have now. If I were you, I'd take a look at Newegg's selection, you might have to wait for it to ship, but, you could bump it up to 2 GB with no problem, and that should give you the performance you need. For referenece, you want a card that supports the PCI Express x16 slot. Hope this helped, let me know! Again, sorry if its a bit too late, haha.
