Anyone think the old-original Pokémon would be worth somethin' by now? I still have my Ancient Mew and shit.

Everybody and their brother has an Ancient Mew. They became not rare thanks to Pokémon the Movie 2000. But I do have a Holographic 1st Addition Lugia card and I know those are kinda rare.

You'd be surprised how many people don't have that card anymore. That movie was several years ago. But thanks for raining on my parade and not contributing to the topic at hand. (:

Gee, the topic was about old Pokémon cards and you asked how much you might think Ancient Mew might be worth and I replied by saying not a lot. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't contributing to the topic on hand. I gave my honest opinion; Sorry I didn't kiss your ass by saying it is worth

Old Yu-Gi-Oh was the best. I still have, like, 4 unopened original starter decks.
And as for the topic at hand, I never really got too into Pokémon cards. To me, they always seemed outclassed by the games. I do have an Ancient Mew, though, which shows how common they really are. *shot*

I still have a LOT of Pokémon cards, might be getting more off of Craigslist (Huge lot for $25). I used to love trading my cards, until I found kids stealing them, then I stopped. In terms of Trading, I've always used a somewhat tiered system, 3 rares for a Holo, 2 Uncommons for a Rare, and 2 Commons for an Uncommon.
In terms of value, its hard to say, some cards still have some value to them, others, not so much. Ancient Mew, like RS said, isn't worth as much as it was, due to Pokémon 2000, pokeorder.com has it listed at $19.99 (You can buy one from them for that price.)
According to Bulbapedia, there is also a version with an error. At the bottom of the card is the copyright text, which is readable. If your version was from Japan, check to see if "Nintendo" is spelled right in the copyright text. If not, you have an error card, which is worth more than the standard!
