If you didn't know about this function, then lemmie tell you about it. It first appeared in in Gold/Silver era and has been around since in the Pokémon versions in some shape or form. Well, it's back again and I'll tell you how to unlock it.
Go to the TV station in Juileaf City and head up to the 3rd floor. There will be a man standing next to a woman- talk to him.
First he'll ask you about your opinion on TV. Reply to his statement by saying "EVERYONE HAPPY".
Next he'll ask you what you think of their TV programs. When you do, reply to him by saying "WI-FI CONNECTION".
By doing this, you will have unlocked Mystery Gift. You can even do it online now, which is great for people like me if you only ever linked up with yourself because of the lack of friends with Pokémon games. But I think the Wi-Fi part only works with people on your list and not at random because I'm getting nothing at the moment.
