TA-DA a trick
go to the 1st Elite 4 room
When you arrive at the first room, walk back towards the door that locked
behind you when you entered. While looking towards that door, and as far as you
can walk up to it, have a Pokémon use SURF. Crazy, huh? That's not supposed to
work, right? After all, it's ridiculous to SURF on...concrete. However, and for
whatever reason, your character will jump onto the creature he or she is about
to ride, and jump through the door onto that Pokémon!
You have now wound up past the game's normally-travelable boundaries and into a
void. Again, don't worry. You can walk in throughout this void as far as you
please, but because this is a very dangerous glitch, you'll need not to move an
inch but only in the right direction, and for the right distance!
Now you can go to one of two places--to where Darkrai or where Sheimi is. To
access Darkrai, from where you now stand, using the game's built-in pacer (it's
an accessory of the Poketch, your electronic multi-purpose tool), walk 146
steps to the east. After that, walk 254 steps south, totaling to 400 total
steps taken.
If you feel you've messed up, you can always fly from where you are to the
game's normal areas. So not to risk anything, I suggest that you save your game
before you continue.
Now, use DIG to go underground. DON'T MOVE! Simply resurface. Guess where you
are? You're at New Moon Island! The place looks a little messed up, but don't
worry about that. Maneuver yourself west around the glitched visuals for a
short distance, and then north through the trees. There before you floats the
rare Pokémon Darkrai!
Some common statistics:
Pok?Dex entry: Number 491
Height: 4"11', or 1.5 meters.
Weight: 110.5 lb, or 50.5 kilograms.
Species: Darkness Pokémon
Evolution: Not Applicable
Evolves from: Not Applicable
Some battling statistics:
Type: Dark
Ability: Nightmare
Level found in wild: 40
Congratulations! Once you're done with either capturing or killing it (if
you've beaten the game, this level 40 fool isn't going to give you problems),
you can fly to the game's other locations or you can also go after Sheimi.
Sheimi is also acquired in the exact same way, but in a different direction. It
is easier to start all over again and reset your Poketch's pedometer, as you
can very easily get lost, which will only cause you to lose time, since this is
a very easy glitch. Once you find yourself in the void again right outside the
doorway of that same room, walk 200 steps east. Afterwards, walk 363 steps
south, totaling to 563 steps taken. After that, walk 722 steps east, totaling
to 1285 steps in total. Again, dig underground, without moving, and immediately
resurface. You're now in the Elysium Fields with Sheimi plainly ahead of you.
Some common statistics:
Pok?Dex entry: Number 492
Height: 0"8', or 0.2 meters.
Weight: 4.6 lb, or 2.1 kilograms.
Species: Gratitude Pokémon
Evolution: Not Applicable
Evolves from: Not Applicable
Some battling statistics:
Type: Grass (And the very first pure Grass legendary, too)
Ability: Natural Cure (Every time this Pokémon is withdrawn from battle, all
malignant statuses are automatically cured, which of course won't affect your
battle with it)
Level found in wild: 30
This will be a pushover. However, I still suggest you come with 99 Ultra Balls,
99 Great Balls, 99 Pokeballs, and as many of all the other weird types as you
deem worthy of your time to acquire.
I would like to Congratulate you on successfully and legitimately capturing
either of these Pokémon. What it all turned out to be was fun and easy, I'm
sure. That, or at least much easier as compared to the less rarer, much harder
other legendaries.
