FORUM POLL: Which Region? + More

Pretty straightforward poll and I'd like everybody's feedback on this, for it will be greatly appreciated.

First of all, since I'm looking at how complex it would be to do an actual Mystery Dungeon RP (we can't have everybody in the universe saving the world and I can't think of a suitable path to follow, sorry), I'm thinking a classic Trainer RP would be best to really and truly buckle down on and release when we are actually ready for it instead of a failed trial by fire.

So, if you guys could vote and leave a comment detailing your idea and not a post saying "Hoenn would be cool lololol", that'd be fantastic. Yes. I actually want some actual feedback on the matter. I'd like to hear your ideas, your thoughts, your opinions, whatever. And if you do think a PMD RP would be better and you've got ideas on how to make it work, then go ahead and leave the idea in here! But keep in mind, majority will win.

Aside from that, I also wish to announce something else to all of you. Very shortly, I'll be holding an Advertisement Design Contest for who can create the best advertisement for R.T.C.. The best advertisement will be used to... well, advertise ourselves on other websites. Keep in mind that you don't even need Photoshop to make a nice looking design if you're smart about it. I've seen other designs who have simple enough designs made of just words and some complex coding, but look fantastic.

Now, the contest is not being held right now, but I thought I'd go ahead and throw that out to you guys now so you can maybe try to get some ideas up. You'll want to mention the RP, of course, so base it around which region we will eventually decide on. If you want to show me what you have so far, anyone is free to PM me. And don't worry, the winner will receive a prize Pokémon for the Role Play as well and runner-ups will get goodies, too. All that will be figured out once we do pick the region.

Other - being an RP site doesn't seem to be the correct choice for RTC, judging by the fact that the last time anyone tried to RP was in September and no one who's still around, barring you, RS, and maybe DMC, have any interest in RPing as far I'm aware.

If only people still asked to be rescued in--or at least still played--the MD games...

Anyways, I think we should RP in the Isshu Region. Mostly because it is the newest region, and I feel that it would be interesting to sort of be able to explore a place that we don't yet know too much about (except for Squirtle because he's a loser and owns the game). I just think that it would not be as limited as if we did Kanto, per say.

I don't plan on making the site a full-fledged RP site, we're still going to have our other boards like before. Also, the previous RP wasn't actually complete and released anyway to see how it was run via trial by fire, which was a mistake. We had an idea of a plot, but didn't know where to take it. We wanted towns, but didn't have them all. Gyms we were going to do, but didn't make them up. Nothing for the previous trainer RP was ready and the same could be said with the PMD RP as well. The new RP will not be released until everything is ready so even the staff will have proper guides on how to actually do stuff.

That's also where the advertisement thing comes in, so we can let other people out there know what we have to offer. We may not have a lot of members, but we really don't let people out there let us know we're here either. I'm not going to rely on myself to always advertise, but I don't want other members to advertise for us without something they can obtain in return: That's where the RP Prize System will come in. If a member is committed to wanting to help us out, they can do so and score some stuff while in the process. It is two birds with one stone.

As you can probably already tell, I'm fairly certain I left open the option to retract your vote if you change your mind.

Okay, so a vote towards the Orre region...

Oh, and just so you guys know, I'm keeping my vote until the very last if a tie breaker is absolutely needed. But whatever it may be is my secret until the poll is finished. Even if we don't need a tie-breaker, I'll let you know what it is regardless. And if what I'm originally thinking isn't an option to break the tie, I'll then vote for one of the highest ones so I don't end up contributing to nothing.

Of course, if the Orre region ends up winning in the end, I'll have to do some serious puzzeling to figure out how to get it to work since there is a drastically less amount of places to capture wild Pokémon, only one gym and no league... it'll be almost like making up an entire region.

If it wins, I'll take you up on that. Of course, we'd have to incorporate the new Pokémon from 4th and 5th generations as well since they didn't exist in this game (with the exception of Bonsly and Munchlax in XD).

That's easy enough, just need to know their habitats.

Not quite, since the Isshu region Pokémon, being based on New York and not Japan like the other regions, is on the other side of the world. Plus, just having even normal Pokémon nearby regional Pokémon is tough since the entire Orre region is desert mainly desert. We'd have to create some new places if you want to get the other Pokémon.

Well, I guess so. But Orre seems to be quite a lot like America as well, except for Mt. Battle. So it seems easy to incorporate.

Except it is still Japanese based (despite Japan not having a desert, but tell that to the Hoenn region). But either which-way we go, stuff will have to get done and systems will have to be made.

Speaking of systems, I think I'll get working on some of the battle mechanics of the system since that isn't dependent on the region.
