I stopped by a GameStop earlier today and yes; the date they have for the English version of Heart Gold / Soul Silver is April 1st. However, they pointed out that this is more than likely going to be pushed by a number of weeks since it's only a planned date, not an official date. But if we get it sooner, that'd be cool.

Heh, I like the new battle animations (The opener and that) and the music is awesome! Bulbapedia says that after you get all 16 badges, you ca choose to use the original music, that's awesome! The only thing I don't like is that darn Trapezoid (In battle, where it shows HP and that) It looks like it takes up too much room for little reason, more/better battle animations would've been a plus, but whatever, it still looks epic. I'm preordering both!  |

How the hell did you get that totally pwnsome Squirtle? Was that added to the game or something?
I just noticed...
How long does it take, really, to translate that game into English? I figured it should atleast take 2 months, even 3, but 7? Freaking 7 months?
Are they delaying the English release just to taunt us or what...?

There's a lot more to translating a game than you think. Remember Red and Green, the first 2 games? Because of the lengthy amount of development time, the Game Engine couldn't handle the English translations, so they had to rebuild the engine. After you translate into English, you now have to fix things that are awkward (Like font size, positioning, and with new graphics, you need to ensure the text matches in), and they have to make it unique (or at least try to) and then finally beta test it, and ensure its ready to go!
It takes a lot more time then we think, besides, would you want something that's rushed to market in 2 months and is generally crappy, or a masterpiece that took ages to make, but is the most epic thing you've ever played? lol. /nerd
