No, Leafgreen and Firered probably do have cheats and glitches, all games do.

My personal experience with a glitch in Leafgreen is when I went into the Pokémon center of the town with the fire chick for the Gym Leader, It sent me out. Like when I went through the door and the screen loads up the Pokémon center, it instead sent me into the town like i had exited the center. Its an uncommon glitch, but it is known. Also, theres a very common glitch where when you go into the Pokémon center, the screen is a darker than usual, then it goes to normal. That happens 3/4 the time when I go into the center. That also happens on my friend's Firered game.

It's a trick of the eye created by the entirely black background, not a glitch.
A glitch would be, say, Missingno.

No, all the colors become a darker shade and then it fixes itself in like a second. Thats why its a glitch.

Trick of the eye, otical illusion.
When you go into a dark room after being out in the sunshine, everything is extremly dark. But when you stay in the dark room, you reailse that you can see rather well and it's not as dark as you thought. It's simply your eye adjusting to it and it's mearly a glitch.
If all the colors changed, like reds becoming greens and blues becoming yellow, then that would be a glitch. A glitch is an error in the system that can be taken advantage of or could be a virus. A mere color change is not a glitch.

A glitch means something happened in the game that is not supposed to happen. It is sometimes something that can be taken advantage. Example: You are playing your game and it suddenly crashes. That is a glitch, but cannot be taken advantage of... unless you have a warrenty on a normal DS and get a DS lite, buts thats a whole different thing.

Infinate Nuggets.
When on the Nugget bridge keep losing to the guy who gives you the nugget. He will give it to you again when you fight him again. Repeat.
